Not exactly the easy riding I've been used to. Oh no. Yesterday was the South Enduro challenge, which is a bike ride along the south downs way. And generally involved up the downs, then down the other side, then back up again, and this didn't stop. The race ride was a circular route, starting and ending in Duncton, which is north of Chicester.
There were three distances to chose from, I opted for the shorter one (around 46km) as I knew my offroad training was non existant. And the whole route was off road. After 5hrs and 15mins I eventually finished. And needless to say the ass was not happy after being on the saddle for that time.
The distance wasn't the killer in the race, it was the off road riding which I wasn't exactly used to. And continuous up and down hills. Including one down hill where I lost my balance and came off, straight over the handle bars. Good times. But I'm fine after that, just a bit grazed. Nothing that won't heel soon.
Today was a nice chilled day. The weather was great, so spent the day on Brighton beach, having a barbeque, some beers and just enjoying the sun. A whole lot of less work than what I put myself through yesterday :)
