This past weekend we had booked a weekend away in Herne Bay, which is just next to Whitstable on the north coast of Kent. So on Friday we left home around midday and drove over to Herne Bay. We arrived a bit before check-in time, so decided to grab some fish and chips for lunch outside of The Hampton Inn pub. After a bite to eat we headed over to the house, checked-in and settled in to admire the view from the house. After sometime we headed down to the beach for a walk along there.

On Saturday, we spent the majority of the day around the house - unfortunately Ellen wasn't feeling quite 100% for the day so we didn't want to head out too far from the house, so just stayed fairly local and enjoyed the view from the house instead.

Then yesterday, with Ellen back in top form again, we headed down to the pier for a walk and Ellen had a turn on the merry-go-round. Afterwards we drove over to Whistable Beach to check it out, which turned out to be super busy - clearly everyone had the same idea to visit Whitstable yesterday. We grabbed some lunch on the beach, but with it being so busy, decided we didn't feel like staying on too long, so we drove over to Tankerton Beach which had a really nice walkway along the front, and a lot quieter than Whitstable.

We stayed there a couple of hours, enjoyed the seaside breeze and sound of the ocean, and then decided to make our way back to London, getting home mid afternoon before it was too late.
